Beaumont Police Department News Release-Investigators release name of man killed in overnight hit-and-run

Traffic Unit Investigators have notified the next of kin of the victim from last night's hit-and-run crash.  The victim was Mitchell Glenn Downs, a 23-year-old resident of Lumberton.

Investigators have also determined that security cameras from adjacent businesses captured video of the incident.  We are looking for a dark-colored pickup truck that has new front-end damage that resulted from striking Mr. Downs.

If you have any information about the identity of that vehicle, or its driver, please contact the Beaumont Police Department Traffic Unit at 980-7271.  You may also contact Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 833-TIPS with anonymous information.
