Del Mar Hosts WWII Exhibit in Honor of Pearl Harbor Day
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Friday marks the 71st anniversary of Pearl Harbor, and on the eve of that day, Del Mar College put some remarkable items from WWII on display at their east campus.
"I think this display is really nice," Del Mar Student Louisa Hughes said. "I especially like over there where you can see all of the objects that were used, and even hold some of them. I think that's really cool."
Del Mar's history program and their Veterans Services Office hosted the event. The items belong to Manuel Ayala, a Corpus Christi collector and historian.
About 20 authentic WWII uniforms and memorabilia, including historic images and American flags, were on display.
