Locals Aim to Cash In on 12/12/12 Luck with the Lottery

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Wednesday was 12/12/12, the last of the triple-number dates we will see until next century; and a number of people believe the day is filled with luck, so they hoped to cash in.

Frank Flores decided to play the Daily 4 lottery game. He showed up at Pittman's Quick Mart convenience store off McArdle, hoping to join the dozens of other lottery and scratch-off winners the store has produced over the years.

A number of other people also made their way inside the store, and others across the Coastal Bend, to try their luck.

Flores decided that 12/12 were his four numbers that are sure to win on this day.

"It's 12/12/12 today, right, so I said maybe I'm going to get 12 12, right. There's four numbers. Might give me a chance," Flores said.

"Now if everybody comes in and buys scratch offs and lottery tickets, someone is going to lose and it won't be a lucky day," said Richard Cardona, who believed it was his lucky day. "It won't be lucky for them, but if I win, it will be lucky for me."
