Ninth Annual Special Hearts Prom Held at Moody High School

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Prom was held early on Wednesday for some students at Moody High School.

The 9th annual Special Hearts Prom was put on by the school for their special education students. It is a chance for those students, who normally couldn't take part in a prom, to experience what it's like.

The special ed students are paired with a cheerleader or baseball player as their dates for the big event; fun for everyone involved.

"The reason we do it, really, is because a lot of the students don't all live at home, so they wouldn't have transportation to the actual prom," Moody Teacher Aileen Elizondo said.

Since we are close to the holidays, this year's theme was Winter Wonderland.
