Burn Bans in Effect for Nueces, Refugio Counties

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

If you were planning on ringing in the new year with fireworks, think again. Burn bans are now in effect in both Nueces and Refugio counties.

That means residents are prohibited from buying, selling and/or using
fireworks.

The burn bans were put in place due to ongoing drought conditions, and both bans will last for 60 days. Violating them is a Class C misdemeanor.
