Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones. Unfortunately, there are some seniors in our community that don't have a family.
That's where the Be a Santa for a Senior program comes in.
The program collects a list of names from the Corpus Christi Senior Services division and area nursing homes that have less fortunate seniors. They then place trees all over the community with the names of those seniors and what it is they want for Christmas.
You can drop off the gift where you picked up the name.
"We all feel really good about the project, and we like to see the excitement in people's faces when they receive the gifts," said Heather Schloesser of Home Instead Senior Care.
If you would like to help out, they have placed several trees all around town. You can go to the Mirador nursing home, Trinity Towers, Stein Mart and Home Instead Senior Services to pick a name.
