Former Local Star Mike Adams Signs With Phillies

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - Former Sinton Pirate and Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina Mike Adams is leaving his home in the Lone Star State to join the Philadelphia Phillies.

Adams agreed to a three-year, $18 million contract with the Phillies late Friday night. Adams pitched for the Rangers the previous year and a half including helping bolster the bullpen during the 2011 World Series run.

Adams is hoping to return during Phillies' spring training after having surgery last month on his neck to repair Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
