ROCKPORT (Kiii News) -

The City of Rockport received a complaint from a resident, alleging that a Officer Michael Frye of the Rockport Police Department had harassed her.

Frye, a 10-year veteran of the police department, was accused of harassment, stalking and misuse of official information.

The complaint was referred Criminal Investigation Division Commander Jerry Lawing for an internal affairs investigation. During that investigation, Frye was placed on administrative leave.

A warrant was issued on Dec. 1, and Frye was arrested by the Rockport Police Department on the same day. He posted bond.

The case was presented to the 36th Judicial District Attorney's Office for review on Dec. 14, and then went to the Aransas County Grand Jury on Dec. 18. At that time, the grand jury indicted Frye for retaliation and misuse of official information, which are both third-degree felonies.

Frye submitted a letter of resignation from the Rockport Police Department, which became effective on Monday. A follow up investigation is ongoing.
