Value Bank of Texas Donates Books to Elementary Students
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Some kindergarten students received the gift of literature on Wednesday at Oak Park Elementary.
The folks at Value Bank of Texas donated more than 100 books to the library. In addition to the donation, each student themselves were given a book as a gift so they could take home and read over winter break.
"Our team members got together and did a book drive," said Carrie Heitkamp of Value Bank of Texas. "We got books from our customers and from our employees, and we were able to put one in each kindergartener's hand this morning, and it was a pretty awesome feeling for us."
The folks at Value Bank say they believe literacy is the roadmap to a child's success.
