ALICE (Kiii News) -

Alice area authorities made 61 arrests over the past weekend, and showed off the results at a press conference in the Alice Public Safety Center on Thursday.

Officials talked about the details of the multi-agency operation, called Operation Unified Alliance, which took place from Dec. 20-22. The Alice Police Department, Jim Wells County Sheriff's Office, Department of Public Safety, U.S. Border Patrol and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Task Force all worked together on the operation.

Charges for the suspects included DWI, outstanding warrants and patrol violations and citations.

"We're very pleased to the fact that we are able to work together and make these apprehensions of individuals that are wanted, endangering our community," said Danny Bueno, outgoing Alice Police Chief.

This is the third operation of its kind this year. Authorities say the operations will continue.
