2 Hour Standoff Ends with the Capture of the Suspect
A 55 year man is in jail after a two hour standoff with SWAT. Police arrested 55-year-old Juan Medina. Police say that Medina barricaded himself inside a home after a fight with a woman that resulted in gunfire. The standoff took place in the 1800 block of Talisman Street late Friday night. When police arrived, the Medina barricaded himself inside the home. The woman was not hurt and was able to escape. Police set up at a distance so they would not provoke Medina. Neighbors were evacuated as a precaution. Two hours later, the SWAT team used what's described as a flash bang to distract the man as they made their way inside the home. The man was then taken into custody. Police say the suspect was drunk. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
