Firefighters Respond to Electrical Fire

Fire crews were called out to a fire on Elizabeth St. around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

Investigators believe an electrical problem sparked the blaze, which started in the attic. It then worked its way down to the wall area and burned through the floor.

It took over twenty minutes to get the fire under control. Crews had to tear down some walls and some of the flooring, but fire officials were worried it could of gotten alot worse.

No one was injured. @

    A local family received news they were dreading Tuesday, and unfortunately were prepared for it -- two of their relatives were identified as victims of the mudslide that devastated a small town in Washington state on March 22.The bodies of Theresa and Steve Harris were recovered Tuesday. Theresa's brother, Mark Christoph, owns an insurance business here in town. Both victims were from the Coastal Bend.More >>
