The Corpus Christi Police Department and the City's water department had their hands full Sunday night after a car slammed into a small building.
The accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Shoreline Drive. Police said a driver appeared to lose control of his car, slamming into the side of a water department building. He then fled on foot, leaving his vehicle at the scene.
Damage to the building was minimal, but the accident caused major damage to a water line.
Police did catch up with the driver and issued him a citation for failure to control speed and fleeing the scene of an accident.
