DPS Increasing Patrol Efforts with Operation Holiday
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The Corpus Christi Police Department will be out in force Monday night, cracking down on drunk drivers; but they won't be the only law enforcement out there.
The Department of Public Safety will be increasing their patrol efforts as well.
"This is why we have Operation Holiday, where our troopers will be out looking for the intoxicated driver," DPS Senior Corporal Charlie Ramirez said.
Operation Holiday basically means that a majority of troopers will be on duty Monday night, patrolling highways and interstates. They will not just be zeroing in on drunk drivers. They will be on the lookout for speeders and seat belt violators, as well.
DPS officials say this is their busiest night of the year.
