ALICE (Kiii News) -

The Alice Police Department has initiated an internal complaint and investigation regarding and an arrest that was made on Dec. 19.

The police department has also placed the officer that made the arrest on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The arrest was captured on a cell phone camera by the person who was arrested. He then put it online for the world to see on his Youtube channel.

Alice Police Officer Nick Juarez, who has been with the department for at least five years, made the arrest on 25-year old Gabriel Lee Cabrera for failure to provide identification, which is a misdemeanor. Cabrera was booked and taken to the Jim Wells County Jail.

According to Cabrera's mother, who did not want to be shown on camera, their lawyer told them not to talk to the media.

Assistant Police Chief Albert Martinez said it is not a common type of arrest. "I don't believe that this is the type of arrest that the Alice Police Department has done frequently, or done before," he said.

While we were unable to reach Cabrera, he has been very outspoken on his social media pages, including Youtube, Facebook and Twitter, going by the user name, Gloc361. He talks about the arrest, saying he did nothing wrong, and cursing the police. He even asks his friends to sign a Whitehouse petition to bring what he calls  the "dirty cops" to justice.

The Alice Police Department said the investigation is being conducted to see whether or not the arrest was lawful.
