Energy Efficient Improvements to CCPD Headquarters
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The Corpus Christi Police Department headquarters on John Sartain and Water Street is getting an energy efficiency makeover.
Officer Kirk Stowers gave 3News a tour of some of the changes that have taken place inside the building, all designed to save money by putting in more efficient lighting and even motion sensors, which shutoff the lights in a room if no one is around.
Also, there are some changes to the air conditioning controls that should save the City money in the future.
"We can only now change it two degrees rather than a broad, sweeping change in the temperature, so that way if a person is uncomfortable, they'll have to contact building maintenance to change the temperature," Stowers said.
All of the energy efficient changes should be up and running by summer.
