Teens Tackle Tobacco at Statewide Texas Youth Summit
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Texas teens from all across the state are tackling tobacco, traveling to Austin to take on tobacco prevention issues in an interactive way.
"The Texas Youth Summit gives teens a chance to actually advocate and educate themselves about the harmful effects of tobacco on a statewide level," program coordinator Aaron Villalobos said.
Villalobos will represent Corpus Christi as an adult facilitator at the third statewide Texas Youth Summit. He will assist in training 22 youth delegates on the legislative process, educating legislators about tobacco issues and participating in capital day events.
Two Ingleside students will be participating in the event, which will be held Jan. 13-16 in Austin.
