Amber Alert Canceled After Missing Toddler's Body Found - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

(KCEN) -- A missing toddler's body was found inside her caregiver's basement yesterday in Crosbyton.

This, just days after police issued a statewide amber alert.

Two-year-old Leah Aguirre was being watched by Matilda Almaraz while CPS workers investigated the girl's mother.

Yesterday the young girl's body was discovered in a box inside Almaraz's home.

Police say the box was in the basement wrapped in plastic and intentionally hidden.

Almaraz has been arrested and charged with capital murder.
