Corpus Christi council members could approve a new street user fee that will increase rates for residents next month.

The average homeowner is expected to pay $6.95 every month on their utility bill. This charge would be on a sliding scale based on usage. City teams have been working to fund the nearly $1 billion dollars in work needed to repair area roads. Staffers were also asked to design a flat rate system increasing the rate to $7 as an alternative.
