
The fourth flu-related death in Nueces County was confirmed by City-County Public Health District officials on Thursday.
The patient was a male between the ages of 30-40 years old. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital earlier this week. Additional information regarding the man's identity is being withheld to protect the patient's privacy.
Dr. William Burgin, Jr., local health authority, advises everyone to protect themselves against the flu by getting the flu shot, and by distancing themselves from sick people whenever possible.
