A Corpus Christi man is facing DWI charges after causing two accidents, leading to a rollover, according to Corpus Christi police.
Police said the driver, 24-year old Daniel Reyes, had twice the legal blood alcohol content in his system at the time of the accidents.
The first accident happened at Airline and Williams around 2:15 a.m. Officers said a man driving a truck with his wife struck a man on a motorcycle and then drove off. The second accident happened minutes later, resulting in the truck rolling over.
"So when he left that scene, he took off at a high rate of speed. Left the roadway here and jumped the curb into the parking lot at Avis, and ended up hitting the guardrail, the three vehicles behind us and hitting that pole," said Lt. Robert Alvarado of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "That pole also. So that's what caused him to roll his truck."
Surprisingly, no one was injured in either accident. Officers took the driver of the truck to the hospital for a blood draw. He now faces speeding and DWI charges.
