CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
The family of a local motorcyclist who is recovering from an accident that nearly claimed his life in November is hoping to raise money for his mounting medical bills.
A military veteran, 26-year old Tyler Bostwick was struck by an uninsured motorist on Nov. 2 of 2012 and is now recovering from massive head trauma, a broken pelvis and numerous other injuries. He has already undergone five surgeries, and is scheduled for a few more.
"His dad works two jobs. I work one," said Heather Watkins, Bostwick's girlfriend. "This fundraiser is basically just trying to put a dent in the medical, only the medical bills."
Even though the overall prognosis for Bostwick is good, his family said he will have to undergo a lot of rehabilitation.
