City Code Enforcement officers hit the streets of Flour Bluff early Thursday morning as part of the City's neighborhood cleanup program called Operation Proud Partnership.
Enforcement officers were checking for any sign violations, high weeds or junk motor vehicles around vacant lots and buildings. They said the idea was not to do the actual cleanup yet, but to take note of what needs to be cleaned up.
"I think that it is very important for the community that they see us out here, that they know that we are trying to clean up the city, and that we get everyone educated," Code Enforcement Officer Liza Salinas said. "We are out here to improve the city."
Property owners who were found to be non-compliant received a warning on Thursday. Ultimately, if they do not comply with City Code, they could be fined.
