Beaumont Police Department to get new officers

Beaumont -- The Beaumont Police Department is preparing to welcome eleven new officers.

An Oath of Office Ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday in the Meeting Room of the Beaumont Civic Center.   The public is invited to attend.

The following will be sworn in as Police Officers for the Beaumont Police Department:

Brian Barbour who grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelors degree in History. Brian has been serving in the United States Army Reserves since 2008.

Joshua Beard, 27,  who graduated from Kountze High School.  Joshua is a veteran of the United States Army and served there for more than six years as a Green Beret.

Cesar Beattie Jr, 25, of Beaumont.  He is originally from Brownsville, Texas. Cesar is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Carson Burrell, 23, of Jefferson County.  Carson graduated from Lamar University in 2012 with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

Tyler Cowart, 27, of Beaumont.  Tyler graduated from Texas A&M University (Corpus Christi) with a bachelor in Applied Science. Tyler is a United States Marine Corp veteran and was the class leader for his Regional Police Academy Class.

Jonathan Fenner, 29, of Orangefield.  Jonathan graduated from Lamar University with bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. Jonathan also is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Brandon Garris, 33, of Vidor.  He is the father of one child.  Brandon graduated from Lamar Institute of Technology in Health, Safety, and Environmental.

Robert Gerard III, 24, of Beaumont.  He is a graduate of Ozen High School.  Robert also graduated from Lamar University and worked at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility prior to joining Beaumont Police Department.

Tony Harding Jr, 27, of Beaumont. Tony graduated from Dallas Christian College in 2008 and became a pastor for three years in Dallas before moving back to Beaumont.  Tony is a father of one child.

Kevin Lindenschmidt, 26, of Port Arthur.  Kevin is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and is currently in the Individual Reserves.

Edwin Linarte,  23, of Franklinville, New York.  Edwin joined the United States Air force in 2007 and served for 4 years. While in the Air force, Edwin also served as a MP.
