
(credit: KTVT/KTXA)UPDATE: VAN ZANDT (KYTX) - The names of two people injured when an oil storage facility exploded early Tuesday have been released.
Brandy Wolfe, 24, was listed in good condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and H.R. Price, 24, is no longer being treated at the hospital, officials said Tuesday evening.
The Van Zandt County Fire Marshal along with multiple fire departments responded to a explosion and fire at a oil storage facility on State Highway 110 North of Van, according to Fire Marshal Chuck Allen.
Allen said the call came in just before 3 a.m., reporting a fire at an oil well.
"It was reported that two burn victims were at the Van Fire Department and were requesting EMS. Both burn victims were transported to East Texas Medical Center Hospital in Tyler by EMS. Subsequently, both subjects have been transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas by East Texas Medical Center EMS," he said.
VAN ZANDT COUNTY (KYTX) - At least two people have been hospitalized after an explosion at an oil storage tank facility in Van Zandt County.
It happened around 3 AM on Highway 110 and County Road 1507. The Van Zandt County Fire Marshal tells us it all started when two people trespassed onto the property, then they sat on top of a tank while smoking a cigarette, and that's when the fire started.
The Fire Marshal tells us the victims were taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with second degree burns to the face, arms and chest. Several fire departments responded to the scene including Van Zandt County, Tyler and Lindale.
