SINTON (Kiii News) -

A routine traffic stop in Sinton Tuesday morning led to the discovery of 14 illegal immigrants.

When U.S. Border Patrol agents pulled over a cargo truck Tuesday morning, the driver and two passengers fled on foot. The back of the truck was opened and 14 illegal immigrants were found, 12 from Mexico and two from El Salvador.

Agents said the back of the truck was unventilated, and many of the immigrants needed medical attention. They are now in the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol.
