Council Gives Go Ahead on HEB Bakery Expansion Project

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

City Council members gave the green light on Tuesday for a project that would allow HEB to expand its local bakery and tortilla factory.

The company said it will spend $17 million to expand its facility off McCambell Road. In exchange, the City has agreed to spend $850,000 to have a concrete roadway put into place near the facility.

The business provides 388 full-time jobs that pay an average annual salary of around $32,000.
