Crime Stoppers: Overnight Felony Theft

Investigators need your help to find a piece of valuable equipment that was taken in the middle of the night on Sunday, Nov. 25.

The Nueces County Sheriff's Department began an investigation for felony theft at County Road 55A and Farm to Market 665. A meter technician for Enterprise Products told investigators that an unknown person removed the gate, and then took a three-inch Daniels SR fitting tube worth about $5,000. The tube did have a serial number on it, which is 09050035.

The pipe was removed in a straight, even and precise cut by some sort of heavy equipment. Investigators believe the pipe was taken to be re-used.

    Two Edinburg Police Officers are recovering after they were shot Tuesday evening in La Joya as they attempted to serve a capital murder warrant. The suspect in the shooting, 29-year-old Joaquin Cibrian, was shot and killed following an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Cibrian was arrested in September of last year in Alice for allegedly using city equipment and materials to make extra cash. He was a city employee at the time.More >>
