Woman Injured During Home Invasion on Naples Street

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A local woman woke from a nap around noon on Wednesday, only to find two men ransacking her home on the 500 block of Naples Street.

The 48-year old woman told police that the men were in her living room throwing things around. Police believe the men thought the place was unoccupied at the time.

Once the burglars were discovered, they fled the scene, but not before striking the woman in the back of the head. She suffered a minor wound and is expected to be okay.

So far, the only description police have of the suspects is that one of them was wearing a black hoodie.

"We're very alarmed by this. We're glad that the injuries in this are very minor," said Senior Officer Kirk Stowers of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "We are asking anybody in the public that has any information about this, we really want to hear from you. Call police as soon as possible."

If you have any information that could help police catch the two suspects, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
