It's that time of year again when the Girl Scouts of America mobilize their troops of young salespeople and tempt us with those delicious cookies.
Kiii Meteorologist Alan Holt met the special ladies Thursday morning as they were getting ready and stocking up their supplies. If you are heading out this weekend, expect to come across the girls at Wal-Marts and Walgreen stores all across the Coastal Bend.
Believe it or not, but the Girl Scout cookies program is the world's largest girl-led business.
"It's a chance to earn proceeds for their troop to fund different activities," Girl Scout Leader Amanda Avila said. "It all stays in council after you pay for the cost of the sale."
Cookies run $3.50 a box, or if you really love those cookies, an actual case is $42.
And by the way, Feb. 8 is National Girl Scout Cookie Day.
