Lawton, OK (Kiii Sports)- The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team came up 3 points short in a highly competitive Lone Star Conference showdown against Cameron University on Thursday night in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The Javelinas took a 37-29 lead into the second half against a team they were hoping to beat to move into a third place tie in the LSC. But the Javelinas cooled off at the break, and wound up trading baskets with the Cameron Aggies during the final ten minutes of regulation.
That trend continued in the first overtime as the two teams would up tied 75-75 after the first extra period.
Cameron cashed in at the free throw line during the second overtime and would up winning 82-79 after the Javelinas missed a 3-point attempt at the final buzzer.
Texas A&M-Kingsville is now 5-6 in LSC play. Cameron stands solidly in third place in the conference with a 7-4 record.
