PETRONILA (Kiii News) -

A 19-year old was sent to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital by ambulance Friday morning after rolling his truck in rural Nueces County, near Petronila.

Department of Public Safety officials said it was just after 11:15 a.m. when the teen lost control of his truck at the intersection of Farm Road 892 and Brushy Creek. The truck slammed into a concrete culvert and rolled over.

Authorities said speed and alcohol played a factor.

"Charges are probably going to be driving while intoxicated because, like I said, factors indicate that there was some alcohol involved," DPS Senior Corporal Charlie Ramirez said. "And also unsafe speed at this time."

The driver is expected to alright.
