King Mustangs Ready To Compete For a District Title in 2013
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The King Mustangs are primed and ready to de-throne Carroll in District 28-5A, and they're hoping to ride a stellar returning pitching staff to do it.
Coach Gabriel Perez's Mustangs return six starters on the mound from last year's team that went two rounds deep in the playoffs before their season ended in the 12th inning at the hands of San Antonio Churchill. The Mustangs get a rematch with the Chargers in the season opener Monday, February 18th.
The Mustangs only lost two district games last year, but both were to archrival Carroll. King is hoping reverse that fortune this season, and achieve what the Tigers did these past three seasons: a trip to Round Rock.
