TAMUK Students Get Haircuts to Honor Former Faculty Member
KINGSVILLE (Kiii News) -
Students on the campus of Texas A&M University-Kingsville lined up for a hair cut on Monday, all in honor of a former faculty member.
"There are lots of students here to get their hair cut," said Sheri Shipman of TAMUK. "A lot of them have been waiting just to get their hair done, so we've had a lot of scruffiness go along in the college lately."
Francisco Salon in Corpus Christi took over the lobby of the school of pharmacy on campus Monday afternoon. The money raised from the haircuts is going to help fund a memorial fund in honor of Dr. James Robertson, a former faculty member that recently died.
School officials said Monday's Cut-A-Thon was such a success, they are thinking about doing it again next year.
