The Corpus Christi Police Department has begun an investigation that they are treating as a homicide at 3814 Bentwood Lane after a deceased person was found in a shallow grave in the back yard of that home.
The Corpus Christi Police Department was called by a San Antonio man on Monday, Feb. 4 at 5:50 p.m. to request a welfare check on a 77-year old woman. The responding Patrol Officers received no answer at the door, and the woman's vehicle and personal items were at the residence.
Investigating officers were provided information that a 27-year old man lived in the home with the woman and they began a search for the man and the 77-year old woman. The 27-year old man, David Christy, was found near the 6400 block of Weber Road at 8:30 p.m.
Christy ran and fought with police and then was arrested for Assault on a Public Servant, Evading Arrest, and Resisting Arrest, search or Transport. One patrol officer received a minor hand injury during the arrest.
Corpus Christi Police Detectives applied for a search warrant for the home on Bentwood and discovered a shallow grave in the back yard. The grave contained human remains which were collected by the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office and have not yet been identified.
