IHOP Serving Pancakes for a Good Cause on National Pancake Day

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Tuesday is National Pancake Day, and the International House of Pancakes is celebrating by giving away their big stack of hot cakes for a good cause.

Just on this special occasion, instead of paying directly for a short stack of pancakes, I-Hop customers are getting those pancakes in exchange for a  donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Organizers said that, with the steady stream of customers, this year is appearing to be a success.

"It is absolutely a huge success," said Quince Mitchell of the Al Amin Shrine. "We appreciate so much I-Hop and the managers, and the corporation, for allowing us to do this. It is a huge success. We are getting some great donations from our patrons and it's a wonder for all shriners."

The goal is to raise money and awareness for the Shriners' 22 pediatric hospitals across North America.
