Woman Accused of Shoplifting, Hit and Run Accident Found Guilty
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A jury found 21-year old Miranda Cisneros guilty of three counts of aggravated robbery and one on child endangerment on Wednesday.
Cisneros, who is now 21, was accused of hitting three Wal-Mart employees with her vehicle after shoplifting around $300 worth of items from the store in early June of last year. She had a child in her vehicle at the time.
According to police, Cisneros had been apprehended by loss prevention officers at the Wal-Mart store on SPID after shoplifting baby clothes and household items. She managed to get to her vehicle, and when store security tried to stop her, she backed out of her parking spot and hit several employees.
Six people were injured in all, two of which had to be taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Cisneros was captured days later by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force, after information provided to Crime Stoppers helped them locate Cisneros at a family member's residence. She was found hiding in a closet.
