A nursing home fire home sends seven people to the hospital. At least three people were flown to Christus Spohn Memorial for treatment.

The fire happened around noon at the Hospitality House of Hebbronville in the 600 block of Gruy.

According to the Jim Hogg County Sheriffs office, when first responders got to the scene....thick, heavy smoke was coming from the east wing of the building. Everyone inside was evacuated. About 50 people live at the nursing home. They were re-located to surrounding facilities.

Authorities say the damage was contained to just one room....the people who were in that room say they were watching TV and smoke started coming out from behind the television.

The state fire marshal was called in to investigate.
