HARLINGEN (Kiii News) - A San Benito woman was arrested just after noon Feb. 8 for allegedly sending pornographic photos of her infant daughter to a man back in January.
The Harlingen Police Department was contacted by Homeland Security on Jan. 19 after U.S. Marshals arrested a sexual offender in Corpus Christi. His cell phone had images of child pornography that were able to be traced back to 22-year old Desiree Lee Padilla's cell phone while she was in Harlingen.
The U.S. Marshals sent the information to the Harlingen Office of Homeland Security, and an arrest warrant was issued for Padilla on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Padilla was arrested at a residence in San Benito, TX, and sent to the Harlingen Police Department for processing. Her charge is a first-degree felony, and she is being held on a $75,000 bond.
