Six New CASA Volunteers Sworn In at Ceremony

Posted: Updated:

CASA, short for Court Appointed Special Advocates, make up an elite force here in the Coastal Bend whose sole purpose is to represent displaced children.

On Tuesday, that organization took a leap forward in membership.

Six people were sworn in as CASA volunteers. The group had to go through a tough training period to qualify.

In addition to the swearing in ceremony, fifth-grade students from Windsor Park Elementary were on hand to present CASA with a $500 check. The money was raised as part of a community service challenge.
