Meteorite Hits Russian Urals, More than 500 Injured

Posted: Updated:

More than 500 people were injured after a giant meteor fell from the sky over Russia and then exploded, early Friday morning.

These pictures show the streak in the sky as the unearthly object plunged in the Ural Mountains, about 1,000 miles east of Moscow.

Officials say many of the people were hurt by broken glass.

A 6,000 square foot roof at a Zinc Factory collapsed.
