Educators and students at Ray High School were on high alert Wednesday morning as the school went into lockdown, barring students or parents from entering the school.
The lockdown was put into place just before 10 a.m., all in result of a family domestic disturbance call just down the block on Indiana Street; a disturbance in which guns may have been involved.
The actual presence of guns has not yet been confirmed, but it was still close to the time that parents were dropping off students, and it caused quite a hiccup.
Parents said they wish that they were told why the school was on lockdown, and how long it was expected to be under lockdown.
"They should tell us what is going on, you know? I got a kid in there, and I don't know what's going on, and I still work," said Adulfo Espinosa, who was dropping off his students. "I don't think that's right."
Some students arrived a little late to class, but in all, the school was under lockdown for just under 15 minutes. The Corpus Christi Police Department said that it appears the school was not under any type of threat.
