High School Students Participate in Mock Trial Competition
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Future attorneys had the chance to see what it is really like to be a defender of the law.
High school students from all across the Coastal Bend took part in the 2013 mock trial competition on Wednesday. Students have to study a case for several months, then prepare a case from both sides.
From the looks and sounds of it, the students seem to have a future in litigation.
"It takes special students that have a lot of dedication and are academically astute, and will put the time into this," Gregory-Portland Coach Daniel Horne said.
"I'll tell you I'll put some of these students up against seasoned legislators in this city, because these students are excellent," Ray Coach Kathleen Day said. "They know how to object, cross examine. They're really excellent."
Congratulations go out to Gregory-Portland, Incarnate Word and Ray high schools. They will go on to compete in state finals in Dallas next month.
