Police have confirmed that a second arrest has been made in connection to a homicide that took place at a local car wash on Morgan last week.
One suspect had already been apprehended, and thanks to the sharp eyes of a Corpus Christi Police Department officer, a second suspect has been taken into custody.
The arrest happened Thursday afternoon after a traffic stop near Carroll Lane and Holly when an officer recognized a truck that was similar to the one wanted for an unrelated drive-by shooting.
The driver, 42-year old Brian Edwards, took off on foot, and officers gave chase. Some bystanders got in his way to try and slow him down, and police were able to catch up to him and take him into custody.
Police said Edwards had a murder warrant in connection with the shooting that killed a 36-year old man. It happened in the overnight hours of Feb. 11.
During a search of his vehicle, police found a gun.
It was just last Wednesday when 29-year old Anthony Diaz was arrested in connection to the Morgan homicide. He is being held on a $1 million bond.
According to the murder warrant, Edwards' bond has been set at $750,000.
