Local Broadcast Pioneer Passed Away at 82 Years Old
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
It's a sad day for those of us who grew up watching television news in the Coastal Bend, as broadcast pioneer Ken Cessna has passed away.
Cessna, who anchored and reported at KZTV during the 60s and 70s, passed away Thursday. He was 82 years old.
If you ever served as a juror in Nueces County, chances are you may have run into him, because from August of 1979 to just last year, he worked in the central jury room, first as the court administrator and then most recently as a jury clerk.
"Very unique, yes he was. He was very quiet about his uniqueness, but he had a sense of humor, and I always enjoyed his sense of humor," Court Administrator Ann Lorentzen said. "Especially during the stressful times in the central jury room. Because of his experience and knowledge, he was able to make suggestions and was quite a support to me."
