Beginning on Friday, students who use buses to get to school in Sinton will have to go through an extra step before boarding.
Communication experts from Sprint were conducting a biometric imaging scan of students' fingerprints at Sinton High School early on Thursday. Representatives from the school said that the prints will not be available to outside sources, but they will be used to keep track of students getting on and off the bus.
Educators said that it should add an extra sense of security and safety to help ease the minds of parents.
This is one of several security measures that the Sinton Independent School District has added this year.
