Parishioners and religious leaders came together at the American Bank Center Friday for the 109th annual Diocesan Council.

St. Bartholomew's Church is hosting the event, which began Thursday and continues until Sunday. In Friday's session, the Diocesan Council is going over business of the council and voting on resolutions.

"We are going to look again at our apportionment system on how churches contribute to the diocesan budget," said Laura Shaver of St. Bartholomew's Church.

Also, the Diocesan Council collected clothing and hygienic items to give to the homeless.
