Del Mar College Holds Grand Opening for Training Hangar

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

For those who are hoping to find a career in aviation, there is now a new place to train here in the Coastal Bend.

The grand opening of Del Mar College's new training hangar at the Corpus Christi International Airport was held Thursday.

The hangar has actually gone unused for several years, but back in 2011, the City Council approved funds for a makeover of the facility. Del Mar College invested another $2 million to help the project along.

The new expanded venue will allow the college to add an additional 40 students to their aviation program.
