Three men are in jail after attacking a man and taking off with his money. This all happened around 7:30 Sunday night at the Valero gas station on Interstate 37 near Navigation. Police say one of the suspects walked up to the man, punched him in the back of the head, and continued to punch him as he fell to the ground. The suspect then grabbed $100 dollars from the man and took off in a green truck along with two other suspects. Witnesses gave a good description of the vehicle. That's when police tracked down the truck in the 1200 block of Manchester.
Lt. Jay Clement said, "when units arrived to make contact they went to arrest the suspects, that's when a fight ensued. They began to resist arrest. Other family members came outside. It appeared they were having a large gathering. Apparently, there was about 15 people involved. We were able to get all thee suspects in custody. We recovered the $100 bill."
The victim was treated on the scene for minor head injuries. All three suspects are facing charges of robbery and resisting arrest.
