BEAUMONT -

One person was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont Tuesday morning following an auto-pedestrian accident in the parking lot of a Beaumont apartment complex.

12News spoke with Captain Earl White of Beaumont Fire-Rescue shortly after the accident happened.  He said a call came in to dispatch just before 6 a.m. reporting the accident at an  apartment complex located at 3190 Eastex.

Captain White said the man's condition is not known at this time.

Beaumont Police Officer Rob Flores told 12News when officers arrived at the scene they found a man, 38, in the parking lot.  The man had been hit by a car.

Officer Flores said the victim's name has not been released.

Officer Carol Riley Tuesday afternoon told 12News that investigators with the family violence unit are handling the investigation.  They say it is a possibility that the woman ran over the man while trying to get away from him.  It is also possible that she intentionally tried to run him over.  They have not yet made this determination.
